How to read your meter
If your meter reading seems wrong, we may contact you to confirm your reading.
Imperial meter
This meter reads 2988. Remember to include any zeros and ignore anything after the decimal point or shown in red.
Metric meter
This meter reads 00254. Remember to include any zeros and ignore anything after the decimal point or shown in red.
Dial meter
This meter reads 6456. A dial meter has four or more dials. Always take the number that the pointer has just passed. It is not always the nearest number.
Smart meter
Smart meters, despite their name, can be a bit confusing. We only require non-decimal digits for all the readings. You’ll always be looking for a number followed by “kWh” for your electricity reading and a number followed by “m3” for your gas reading.
